CAPRICA GREENLIT… AND ARE YOU A TRUE BELIEVER?

Well it is officially on the way at last… the BATTLESTAR GALACTICA prequel movie, CAPRICA, has finally been greenlit and will go into production shortly in Vancouver. It’s about time, really. The thing was written ages ago, and I guess it is the continued popularity of the main show and the DVD sales of the spinoff movie Razor that have got it off the ground. Add to this BSG is ending this year, and you have a recipe for a network in need of some product. On the upside it will complete the BSG legacy in style, which, in today’s climate of overhyped TV series that are cancelled after half a season, is quite an achievement.

Also on the SciFi channel front, they have picked up Rosario Dawson‘s new show True Believer, following the misadventures of a down-and-out superhero and his new sidekick, a devout comic geek. No word on if Rosario will appear in the show yet,though. The show is to be adapted from a comic book series she co-created. I’m intrigued by this- the premise sounds pretty damn cool, and anything that has the involvement of the lovely Rosario is worth checking out. It is also nice to have something on the way that isn’t a spinoff of a movie or a remake of an old TV show!
