STAFF HOT PICKS: DC TRINITY FIGURES, FAMILY GUY BLUE HARVEST HEADKNOCKERS, THIS WEEK’S COMICS

Our all-seeing giant pulsating eye is cast over some more of the best recent releases in , TV and movie memorabilia and comic books…

DC TRINITY FIGURES
From the best-selling DC graphic novel of the same name comes this set of superb DC Trinity Action Figures. Featuring what has got to be the best figure released in several years, the set consists of , , and Ra’s Al Ghul. The figures are sculpted closely on the art from the book, which has worked out pretty damn well, even if ’s face is a bit too elongated for my liking. DC Direct have created something damn cool here. 8/10 (Andy)

FAMILY GUY BLUE HARVEST HEADKNOCKERS
Darth Stewie, Chewbrian and Quag-3PO, 3 characters from Family Guy’s Star Wars spoof ‘Blue Harvest’ have been translated into Headknocker form at last! These fantastic products stand at roughly 5 inches tall, featuring a base with the characters name and of course, a knocking head. Overall these Family Guy Blue Harvest Headknockers are some of the best Family Guy merchandise to come out in quite a while, and are of the same high quality as we have to expect from the guys from Family Guy. 7/10 (Chris)

THIS WEEK’S COMIC PICKS:

FROM HELL 1 (DARK HORSE)
This gets a ten just for the title, and for adapting a Robert E Howard classic. 10/10 (Andy/Chris)

DOCTOR WHO- THE TENTH DOCTOR COLLECTED COMICS (PANINI)
Bumper 100 page collection of the comic strips originally run in the Doctor Who monthly magazine. There’s some superb stuff and some not so superb stuff, but for the price, this is 100 pages of adventures fans won’t want to miss. 9/10 (Andy)

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 557 (MARVEL)
Pretty decent issue this week containing an intricate storyline (which was hard to follow as this was the end issue of the arc), and artwork reminiscent of Sam Keith, just a touch less crazy. Makes me want to search out the rest of the story arc. 7/10 (Chris)

CAPTAIN AMERICA 37 (MARVEL)
An issue that smacks of padding far too much I’m afraid. A flashback, a lengthy dream sequence, and a bunch of talking in a gym. Hardly awe inspiring. Get on with it already! 4/10 (Andy)
