WATCHMEN: THE TRAILER IS HERE!!!
The most anticipated comic book movie adaptation of the last twenty years is now a step closer to hitting our screens! The first trailer for Zack Snyder’s film of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ legendary WATCHMEN graphic novel has hit the net and cinemas in the US, and it really is a breathtaking look at what may well be the only film to rival The Dark Knight as the definitive comic book movie of this generation. The Watchmen trailer is viewable over at Apple’s Quicktime site in HD as well as various smaller sizes, it gives us our first real look at the characters in action, and the tone of the film itself.
How does it look? Incredible. Just incredible. The characters may look a little different, but their essence is intact. What is astonishing in this trailer is the footage of Doc Manhattan- I really haven’t the words to describe how amazing the character looks. The cinematography looks beautiful, the tone gritty and mean, just like the book itself. The effects look seamless and perfectly realized. It just looks amazing. Of course, it gives us no idea of how the film plays as a story, or of the cast’s performances, but just getting this glimpse has given us all hope that this will be the movie we have craved for two decades.
