DOCTOR WHO: BIONIC WOMAN CAST IN NEXT SPECIAL
It will soon be officially confirmed (well, it should be considering this publicity shot is out) that Michelle Ryan, star of the recent Bionic Woman remake series (and, erm, Eastenders) has been cast in the Doctor Who Easter special, namely Planet of the Dead. Ryan is said to play a character called ‘Lady Christina de Souza’ and is to be the tenth Doctor’s companion for the duration of the new special, which apparently sees the Doctor trapped on a bus on a very odd journey. Erm, okay…
Michelle Ryan was previously rumoured to be appearing in Doctor Who as a full-time companion when Billie Piper quit as Rose. In the end, Freema Agyeman landed the role of Martha Jones, and Michelle Ryan went to the States to play the lead in the short-lived Bionic Woman series. Recently she was rumoured to be in line to play the eleventh Doctor’s companion when Matt Smith takes over from David Tennant next year. This may still happen.
