Patrick Stewart, the acclaimed actor famous for his roles as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star trek: The Next Generation
, Professor Xavier in the X-men movies, his Shakespearean work and countless other roles has been knighted. This year’s honours included a knighthood for the much loved actor, who in recent years trod the boards in hamlet alongside the tenth Doctor, David Tennant. Stewart, 69, said he was ‘very proud’ of the honour, which has capped off a very successful few years for him, during which he has had a triumphant return to the stage, his first love. Everyone here at Starstoreblog would like to congratulate Patrick and say thanks for the masses of entertainment he has helped bring not just geeks like us, but everyone else too. Well done, Sir Picard. Erm, Sir Stewart, I mean.
