CROW REMAKE AND ANOTHER ZOMBIE HALLOWEEN? More stupid ideas from Hollywood…
NO. NO NO NO. JUST NO. Stephen ‘LXG’ Norrington is apparently looking to helm a remake/re-invention/complete screwing up of THE CROW, the legendary graphic novel by James O’Barr, not to mention the even more legendary film starring the late Brandon Lee. This is a monumentally bad idea. After three increasingly terrible sequels, a dreadful TV series and various (actually rather decent) comic book versions, the Crow franchise should not be brought back. That first film was incredible- the fact that Alex Proyas got a coherent movie out of the footage he had was a feat in itself, but it worked beautifully. There is something iconic, beautiful a tragic about that first Crow film, and the franchise should not be touched again lest its reputation be sullied further.
Then there’s the rumour that Rob Zombie has started trying to shop his H2 project again, the aborted sequel to his prequel/remake of Halloween. Again, a bad idea. His remake drew many, many negative reviews and derision from fans of the series, and was nowhere near as complete and well structured as the John carpenter classic. A sequel to it just means more of the same- choppy editing, poor direction and the good name of the Halloween franchise kicked in the dirt even further.
Please, someone, think of something new!!!!!!
