Pirates of the Caribbean 4: Director about to be announced?
Rumour has it that the director for the fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is about to be announced. The name on everybody’s lips is Rob Marshall, director of Chicago and Memoirs of a Geisha.
Marshall would take over the reigns from Gore Verbinski, who stated he had no interest in revisiting the Pirates universe a fourth time.
It is also said that the only vast member from the original trilogy of Pirates of the Caribbean Movies to be returning is the leading man Johnny Depp as his infamous Jack Sparrow Character.
While fans of the series of swashbuckling adventures may be thrilled at the prospect of another outing for Jack, it remains to be seen if the franchise has enough steam left in it to maintain yet another film.
While Depp is undoubtedly the star attraction, without the rest of the cast it seems a bit more like a spin-off than a continuation. What do you guys think?
