THOR: The Thunder God is Captain Kirk’s father!
One of the new Marvel Comics movies that is underway has apparently found its lead. Thor, the Asgardian Thunder God, is apparently going to be played by Chris Hemsworth, the Australian actor who you all saw at the start of JJ Abram’s new STAR TREK movie as James Kirk’s heroic father, George.
The Thor movie may well take a lot of people by surprise. While the other Marvel movies thus far have all been real world, present day affairs, the Thor movie is going to be a great big fantasy epic. It is to be directed by none other than Kenneth Brannagh, and I think it is safe to say we won’t have seen a superhero film like this before.
It will also be interesting to see how Thor (and indeed Captain America, whose forthcoming movie is set in WW2) gets to our world and becomes involved with the Avengers, gearing up for the big screen Avengers movie in 2012.
