Is there more than meets the eye going on out there already? Bad puns aside, is Michael Bay about to start shooting the sequel to last year’s Transformersmovie already? One eagle-eyed poster over at Superhero Hype has let slip a photo of what appears to be two BARRICADE cars being driven on the back of a truck. Now, we may all be lumping to conclusions here, but it’s not outside the realms of possibility to think that the movie may be nearing its start date. Lets take in the facts:-Bay has previously announced a Summer 2009 release date for the movie, so if he wants to stick to that he’s going to have to get underway pretty much immediately.-The movie was already written- or at least a full outline of it- by Bay during the writer’s guild strike. This outline has no doubt already been fleshed out into a full draft or two.-Some work has already been done on the new characters to be included in the second movie, including Autobots and Decepticons both old and new, as well as other non-human/non-Transformer characters.I hope this rumour of the Transformers 2 movie being lensed soon is true, as the makers need to strike while the iron is still hot and fans are still drooling at the prospect of more robot action. The first movie did have its faults, but very, very few, and that is speaking as someone who has been into the things for 24 years. I hope and pray the next one is even bigger and even better. Roll out!
