STAR TREK: TRAILER REVIEW

enterprise new 300x126 STAR TREK: TRAILER REVIEWOkay, so it ain’t the full film, but the trailer that has been leaked online for the reimagining of STAR TREK is nothing short iof fantastic. The full quality version will be posted over at www.startrekmovie.com soon, but the bootleg is immense, even with the low picture and sound quality. Let’s take a look at some of the things we get to glimpse that blew us away. First up there’s Kirk. Chris Pine didn’t grab any of us here as a potential Kirk when he was announced in the role, but this trailer seems to hint at him being every bit the cocky upstart we’d hoped Kirk would be. Spock is spot on, or even Spock-on. Sorry…

The action looks fantastic. Simon Pegg as Scotty appears to be absolutely perfect, if a bit manic in the one shot we see of him. Karl Urban seems a bit dark for Bones, but I’m sure the rumours of him nailing the part are true. The effects look incredible and the production itself looks like no other property ever before. Quite frankly, we finally have a massive buzz at last for this flick. We all had our reservations about it even being made, but this trailer seems to have been just what we needed to reassure us that this is going to kick all kinds of backside.

The one drawback in the trailer is the dodgy car chase sequence at the start, but this will only play a very minor part in the overall film. So then, yes, the new Star Trek movie looks like it will finally be a film the fans can be proud of. It’s been a decade since Trekkers have been able to say that…
