The first image of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the forthcoming prequel X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie has been released by Empire magazine. Logan is looking as badass as ever. The film is to be released next year, and after the lukewarm reception X-Men: The Last Stand garnered at the box office, it is hoped that this will help reinvigorate the franchise and kick off a series of spinoff movies. There is, of course, also the magneto movie on the way too. Here’s hoping they remember to put a story in these films. I’m sure they could use the one they forgot to include in X3…
DOCTOR WHO: CHRISTMAS SPECIAL CONFIRMED
After the climactic events of Journey’s End (Massive feature article coming tomorrow!), the first glimpses from the Doctor Who Christmas special were shown, and as reported months ago, the Cybermen are back! Rumour has it that the title of this special episode is to be ‘GHOSTS IN THE MACHINES’ but as of yet there is no confirmation of this.
JESSICA ALBA TO PLAY RED SONJA?
While she may not have the presence of 1980s Red Sonja actress Brigitte Nielsen, Fantastic Four star Jessica Alba is apparently being considered to play the feisty redhead in a proposed new film. Now, while this may well have geeks the world over salivating already, you do have to wonder if the project should even be made at all. The original movie is hardly a classic, and this just seems like an excuse to get Alba to swing a sword around while wearing a tiny outfit. Can we have some PLOT please? Oh, and how about you quit doing remakes all the damn time Hollywood?

Big news this week? The first official teaser trailer for the 22nd James Bond film, Quantum of Solace, has hit the net. Check it out:
